  7.     What was FAYE DUNAWAY doing sitting in class at the
  8. University of Michigan law school? Research. Dunaway is
  9. interested in portraying law professor CATHARINE MACKINNON in
  10. a movie about sexual harassment. MacKinnon pioneered the legal
  11. concept long before Anita Hill's testimony galvanized the
  12. national debate on the subject. The professor is ambivalent
  13. about submitting to Hollywood treatment. Says she: "It centers
  14. on me as a person, rather than on the women whom the work is
  15. about." But, she adds, "women in Hollywood are looking for roles
  16. that show women doing things that women want done." Meanwhile,
  17. MacKinnon has been lecturing to standing-room-only crowds,
  18. thanks in part to the hopeful writers and producers in the
  19. audience.
